Kirby Smart, who is actually in the SEC, supports it.

Granted, this decision will be made above the head coach's pay grade. But Smart also said he thinks any coaches would be for it (but obviously this last part is speculation).

Finebaum and McFarland's opinions are near worthless on this.

What is interesting is that the SEC has it best right now. So why change? With a relatively small pool of teams in the CFP right now, all eyes are on the SEC during the regular season. So I'm not sure why Alabama or the brass of the SEC would want to expand the playoff. However, I can see why Georgia, LSU, Florida, et al. as individual programs would.
